Attorney: Police Officer Arrested After POISON Concert Was A 'Target' For Arrest

October 18, 2008

Russ Cassady of the Appalachian News-Express reports that the Kentucky State Police officer who was arrested in July following the POISON / SEBASTIAN BACH concert at the Eastern Kentucky Exposition Center in Pikeville, Kentucky will face a December trial date.

However, in a hearing in Pike District Court Tuesday, defense attorneys for KSP Sgt. Timothy W. Moore (see photo below),indicated they believe Moore may have been "targeted" for arrest.

In an evidentiary hearing held before Pike District Judge Kelsey E. Friend, attorney Terry Jacobs, who is representing Moore, asked Friend to order the Pikeville Police Department to turn over "911 calls" and radio transmissions from July 20, the day Moore was arrested.

"One, we believe that Sgt. Moore was a target by the Pikeville City Police Department and there may be certain information transferred by radio that would validate that," Jacobs said. "And, two, we want to discover whether or not any complaints were called in involving Mr. Moore that day."
